And we all said, "Listen to the People!"

Revolutionary

This is an event that took place in the Central Oregon town of Redmond at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds two weekends ago. You can see us in the "angry mob" that included many seniors, but also a wide range of other ages too. I'm the one holding the sign that says, "Listen to the People" :-)

Many of us are very frustrated with our current government and elected officials. We feel that they are not listening to us on the important issues of the day and that they are trying to ram an agenda down our throats that most of us don't want.

We are pleading for our local officals to stop and listen to our concerns! If the little town our Redmond can get this kind of turnout, what can you do?

Thanks to Richard Esterman for taking the photos and for organizing this event. http://www.richardesterman.com/

Yes, this is what happens when your side loses. You pout, you carry on, and cry about how much you dislike what the other side is doing. It's what Democrats had to do for the past eight years, and now it's what Republicans have to do. You'll have another chance in 3 and 1/2 years. It's surprising that so many seniors attend these things...you'd think they'd recognize that this is what happens in politics after so many elections. Instead of just whining about generalities, how about doing something more productive? Why don't you come up with a list of specific items that the current administration is doing that you disagree with, explain why you think these things are so terrible, and come up with some alternative solutions that you find more reasonable? This way, you won't come off like a whiny sore loser.

We're looking out for those of you who "won" too. Look what you've won - big government, debt, lack of control, weaker military, broken promises, ... If we get Obamacare or continued, growing, massive deficits as far as can be seen, in an economy that is floundering, then we all suffer. You ought to be thankful that these people care enough about the future of OUR country rather than in short-sighted "Change".

First of all the seniors. What would you have these seniors do? Their Social Security is being wiped out, not to mention their retirements. These are the people that put all the money into Social Security and now their getting practically nothing. And then there is ObamaCare. These seniors are going to be horribly affected by his plan, a plan that he hasn't even read. None of the Democrats have read it and they expect us to just take it while they shove it down our throats. And who's pouting. Pouting is sitting there in silence. They're coming out full force to be heard. Senior are a large demographic that Democrats can't afford to alienate, unlike the dumb teenagers who are concerned who their favorite rock star is voting for. The Seniors know what the issues are. You'd be well-advised to listen.

As far as being productive, I think we've been pretty damn productive. They signed the $787 billion stimulus bill without reading it. They sure are not getting away with it a second time.

Everyone has to stop blaming Republicans for the bill not passing. It's the Democrats who are fight amongst themselves. They are at a loss because the public is standing up to them and basically saying "We're as mad as hell and we're not going to take this anymore."

You want a list.

He lied. He promised transparency. There is no transparency here. The bureaucracy is so thick even Superman can't see through it.

He was going to have the bill posted on the internet for the public to view. I didn't see the Stimulus bill until after he signed it.

He promised fiscal responsibility. He complained about Bush's deficits yet he quadruples it in two months and smiles and blames Bush. And it's projected the deficit over the next ten tears in $9 trillion. He was off by 2 trillion. That's a big-a** margin.

He promised no earmarks, but he signs a stimulus bill with an estimated 8000 earmarks. If you want examples leave me a note.

Guantanamo. He rushed to close it down and he has no idea what to do with the terrorists. Do you want them in your neighborhood?

He promised bipartisanship. The closest he's gotten is calling on Republican to drop their opposition and join the ranks. It's funny how when Republicans oppose you they're obstructionists, but when Democrats oppose you they're principled.

He promised he was going to look forward. Instead he is now dragging us through an investigation of the CIA. And every time something goes wrong, he blames Bush. Pretty soon he is going to be the former president. What goes around comes around

Cap and trade. It's been reported that it could make energy bills go through the roof. Obama admitted it. Can you afford that?

The Czars. The man has surrounded himself by "czars" who answer to no one but him, and to make matters worse, some of them are avowed Marxists.

Shall I go on. To sit there at your computer as say we have no right protest is....."un-American" to quote Nancey Pelosi. You want solutions? How about he keep his campaign promises?

I've gotta go. I have to get Grandma's wheelchair and signs ready for 9/12 in Washington.
