We see them all the time when installing software, EULA's. End user license agreements. Typically, standard boiler plate, yada.... yada... Click OK to agree. OK or cancel. We all hit OK, right, because otherwise we can't access the site or software.

Well, you might want to read the fine print on this one at the CARS, Cash for Clunkers, website. As Glenn Beck points out in this clip, in part it reads,
"This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the U.S. Government. Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign."

You must be kidding! How about a kidney while you're at it. Unbelievable!

Yet another lie, no it does not say that. Leave it to Beck to spread more BS and for you to believe it.

Since Glenn Beck's show on last Monday, the website has removed that page and is "modifying" the wording. Those like Mike, TX who are so quick to throw about charges of lying should get insurance on their glass houses first. The screen shots of the original site (and the text) are all over the web and the government, to my knowledge, has not denied that it was orginally there. Maybe this was aimed only at the dealers or maybe it was just due to an over-aggressive webmaster, but it certainly was an embarrassment.

“A security warning on the CARS.gov dealer support page that stated computers logged into the system were considered property of the federal government has been removed. We are working to revise the language. The language was posted on the portion of the Web site accessible by car dealers and not the general public.”

exactly, by car dealers not the general public. You seemed to leave that out to scare people into thinking it was anyone who visits cars.gov which was Becks intent and I believe yours.

And my original comment still stands, It never said that in referance to going to cars.gov just the dealers section.
